CHRONOPAY INTERNET PAYMENT SERVICE OPERATOR IS DRIVEN TO BANKRUPTCY BY TAX AUTHORITIES

The insolvency claim of Chronopay CJSC was submitted to the Moscow Arbitration Court on March 5, 2022.  The Moscow IFTS No. 30 made a decision to declare the operator of the payment service of the same name bankrupt (case No. A40-44569/2022).  There is still no reaction of the court to the submitted application, as well as the amount of claims submitted by the tax authorities is still unknown.

ChronoPay was founded in 2003 as an international processing organization by Russian businessman Pavel Vrublevsky.  The company processed payments on the Internet, acting as an intermediary between credit institutions and e-commerce entities.

In 2006, the company became a laureate of the Runet Prize.

The founder of the company became criminally famous a few years later in connection with the accusation of organizing a DDoS attack on the Asist service, through which Aeroflot sold its tickets.  At that time, the airline's customers were unable to purchase an electronic ticket for a flight for a whole week, and Vrublevsky himself was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison.

As noted by the Media Station, other organizations that were part of the ChronoPay holding are already in the process of bankruptcy.  One of them, in particular, is Chronopay Services.  At the same time, Vrublevsky himself, within the framework of the case, can be brought to subsidiary liability in the amount of 67 million rubles.  This was reported by CNews in September last year.

Chronopay Services went bankrupt in 2018.

The initiator of its bankruptcy was the broker of the Forex market, Liberty On Line, to which Vrublevsky's structure owed 19 million rubles.  In the process of bankruptcy, Yves Rocher, Wildberries, FC Zenit and companies, along with the tax authorities, got into the register of creditors.
