BANKRUPTCY CLAIM WAS FILED AGAINST THE OPERATOR OF ZHUKOVSKY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
On June 21, the II FTS No. 1 of the Moscow Region filed a claim with the arbitration court to declare the insolvency of Ramport Aero Company, which is the operator of Zhukovsky International Airport. The company missed the deadline for tax payments last year, which led to the freeze of accounts in November. The company's debt then reached 12 million rubles.

The company itself calls the current actions on the part of tax officials ‘technical’, claiming that there is no threat of bankruptcy. The corresponding appeal was published by the press center on June 25.

According to the representatives of the company, it will be able to pay off the existing debt in the next fourteen days.

The press service of the organization referred to the restrictions that were in force during 2020 and negatively affected the transportation of passengers. At the same time, the representatives noted that the company does not allow debts and delays in tax payments within the framework of its current obligations, and the analysis of operating performance shows that there is a gradual recovery of the airport's activities.

Experts note that the JSC, which manages Zhukovsky, has been unprofitable since 2015 (then the losses amounted to 97.4 million rubles). In 2016, when the first updated terminal of the airport was launched, the company's losses increased to almost 450 million rubles, and a year later they amounted to 541.7 million. At the same time, open source data suggests that the company’s bank accounts remain blocked.

Ramport Aero has to conduct litigation not only with the representatives of the Federal Tax Service, but also with other organizations trying to recover debts.

In April, for example, the company was sued by the flight research institute, on the basis of which the Zhukovsky airport was once built. This month the Spetsmash-CIS company filed a lawsuit against the organization.

It is known that the operator of Zhukovsky was established as a joint venture between the Lithuanian holding ASG with a 75% share and the Tec Russia Company, which is part of the Rostec Corporation. By the end of 2019, Tec Russia owned a 25% stake, and the ASG’s shares were divided between a subsidiary of the Dutch company UAM (52.5%) and Boris Aleshin, advisor to the president of the United Aircraft Corporation.
