ACTIVISTS FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION
The Supreme Court received a claim from the organizing committee of "No!" campaign demanding to invalidate the procedure for holding the popular vote on amendments to the Constitution.
Campaign "No!" and more than 42,000 Russians opposed the results of the vote, according to which the current head of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, could be re-elected for a presidential term. The members of the organization consider the elections to be completely illegitimate.
The leader of campaign does not believe in the strength of the Russian court, but considers it necessary to approach the issue from all sides.
Participants in the contestation of the procedure for voting for the Constitution organized a collection of signatures - it took place on July 15 at Pushkinskaya Square in Moscow and Malaya Sadovaya in St. Petersburg, other regions took part in it as well.
We should recall that the all-Russian vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation was held from June 25 to July 1, 2020. According to the Central Election Commission, 57 million 700 thousand people or 52.95% of the total number of participants voted “for” in the referendum.
