A MEMBER OF LDPR PARTY DEMANDS 1 MILLION RUBLES FROM NAVALNY
In mid-August, Konstantin Kireev, a representative of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), applied to the court with a demand to recover 1 million rubles from Alexei Navalny.
The reason for such actions was the inclusion of the plaintiff in the list of the "Smart Vote", which, according to him, prevented him from winning the elections last year and may become a problem in the elections this year.
According to Kireev, he never cooperated with the activist and did not give his consent to be placed in the list of the "Smart Vote".
Kireev expects the court to recognize the information published on the website of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (he is supervised by Navalny) as untrue. He asks to oblige the defendant not only to delete the information, but also to publish a refutation on the website as well.
In addition, the plaintiff also claimed moral damage, the amount of which is estimated at 1 million rubles. The first session on the claim is scheduled for September 3.
Alexey Navalny himself is currently in intensive care at a German hospital. According to his headquarters, as well as the foreign doctors, the politician was poisoned.
