A LAWYER’S LAWSUIT TO A HUMORIST: ILYA SOBOLEV RECEIVED A LAWSUIT FOR 84 MILLION RUBLES
A lawyer from Togliatti, Leonid Tarantov, filed a lawsuit against the humorist Ilya Sobolev. The reason for such drastic measures was a message that was allegedly sent to the plaintiff a year and a half ago as part of the comedian's program “Can I have your phone number?”
According to the rules, Ilya gets the phone number of one of the participants at his disposal, and the latter can stop the comedian at any time. In this particular case, Sobolev came up with a joke, and the owner of the phone recorded an audio message and sent it to a certain Leonid from his phone book.
The message referred to the non-traditional sexual orientation of the addressee, which offended the applicant.
Sobolev has already commented on the situation, pointing out that the first thing that should be established by the court was whether the plaintiff was the same Leonid to whom the message was sent. The comedian also indicated that the joke invented by him was "beyond the bounds" and there is no way to doubt its absurdity.
Sobolev suspected the plaintiff of intention to "improve his financial state of affairs" at his expense, filing a claim for the recovery of over 84 million rubles for insult. The comedian suggested that the plaintiff found a photograph of a person looking like him on the Internet and decided to use it.
The case will be considered in the Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg tomorrow, on April 28.
