A LARGE GARBAGE CARRIER IN THE NOVOSIBIRSK REGION WANTS TO BE DECLARED BANKRUPT

Housing and communal services "Severnoye" (CJSC) applied to the Novosibirsk arbitration on September 4, 2023. It requires recognition of the insolvent company "EcoTrans-N" (part of the VIS Group of Companies) engaged in the transportation of MSW in the region. The basis for possible bankruptcy was a debt in the amount of 4,741,707.17 rubles (case no. A45-15124/2023).

In July 2023, the arbitration court has already ruled on the dispute between the organizations (case no. A45-15124/2023). The reason was the violation of the terms of the transport lease agreement with the crew, which was concluded in February 2021. The court recovered about 4.7 million rubles from EcoTrans-N, including interest and the amount of state duty.

According to TASS, the garbage carrier does not agree with the court verdict and wanted to appeal it. According to the representative of "EcoTrans-N" Alexey Zhizhchenko, housing and communal services "Severnoye" has no grounds to demand the insolvency of the company in court. However, the appeal filed on August 15 to the court (7th AAC) was left without motion. The company must submit the missing documents to the court by September 18 (in particular, to confirm the delivery of a copy of the complaint of JSC housing and Communal Services "Severnoye").

Recall that EcoTrans-N continues to be one of the most well-known carriers of household waste in the region. Three years ago, the company managed to win 5 out of 6 tenders for the export of MSW in the region for the period from 2021 to 2023.

Last year, the press reported on a scandal related to the refusal of some of the company's drivers and garbage truck operators to take out MSW from several districts of Novosibirsk. The employees of EcoTrans-N demanded an increase in wages due to the need to work on less spacious transport.

The authorities were forced to introduce a special regime in the region, since 3 thousand container sites of the city could be without maintenance. By the end of May 2023, the relevant measures were canceled, and garbage collection was entrusted to the municipal structure (Municipal Unitary Enterprise "Special Auto Farm").
