A FOUNDRY AND MECHANICAL PLANT IN BALASHIKHA NEAR MOSCOW RISKS GOING BANKRUPT
The oldest enterprise in the Moscow region, founded in 1932, may be bankrupt. The city water utility has applied to the Balashikha Foundry and Mechanical Plant (BLMZ) with financial requirements.

The lawsuit was filed on December 14 and has not yet been accepted by the court. Earlier, Rosteccom (Yekaterinburg) and municipal utilities from Balashikha have already addressed their intentions to demand bankruptcy of the plant through the court.

BLMZ was established in March 1994. The plant specializes in the production of aluminum, magnesium and titanium alloys. The main activity of the company is the production of helicopters, airplanes and other aircraft. In total, the company carries out 46 activities.

According to data from open sources, in 2020 the company received revenue in the amount of 713.589 million rubles and made a profit of almost 2.3 million rubles. Officially, the company announced its revenue in 2018. Then it reached 2.8 billion.

A major shareholder of BLMZ by the beginning of 2022 was Technodinamika (part of the Rostec Group division) with a 25.5% stake. Another major shareholder is Alla Baban. She owns 22% of the plant's shares. The company has its interests in six firms, including the Aviamotors company (BLMZ is the sole owner in it).

Note that the financial claims of utilities are not the only statements threatening the well–being of the company. At the beginning of October 2022, the United Aircraft Corporation filed a claim with the Moscow arbitration court with claims for 40.1 million rubles.
