12 STATES OF THE US WILL SUE BIDEN OVER CLIMATE CHANGE ORDER
The authorities of 12 US states applied to the court over the return of the country to the Paris climate agreement. President Joe Biden and his administration are listed as defendants.

The lawsuit was filed with the federal court of Missouri. According to the applicants, the presidential decree could cause serious economic damage, since it expands the powers of the federal authorities. Americans may receive additional financial burden due to the approval of greenhouse gas figures – allegedly, this will allow the government to change and introduce new laws in the future.

The cost of the decree was estimated at $ 9.5 trillion. What is more, the plaintiffs are sure that this violates the principle of separation of powers.

The lawsuit was supported by the attorneys general of Missouri, Utah, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Indiana, Tennessee, Montana, Ohio, South Carolina and Oklahoma.

According to Joe Biden's decree, on February 19, the States returned to the Paris Climate Agreement. Earlier, in 2020, on the orders of the former President Donald Trump, the country left the agreement - the United States became the first and only state to take this step.

Now, having returned to the agreement, the United States will have to increase its commitments to reduce greenhouse gases every 5 years.
