VTB WILL NOT LIQUIDATE FC OTKRITIE
VTB has abandoned its intentions to liquidate FC Otkritie Bank and surrender its license in 2025. Instead of closing, the credit institution expects to join BM-bank, which is being sanitized by VTB. Then BM-bank will join VTB. This year will be a year of reorganizations for VTB, said Dmitry Pyanov, first Deputy Chairman of the VTB Board.
VTB bought the Otkritie group at the end of 2022. together with the brokerage business, the NPF of the same name and Rosgosstrakh from the Central Bank. The change of the integration plan has been agreed with the regulator.
VTB decided to abandon plans to liquidate Otkritie due to the large volume of "silences" among the clients of the credit institution. Otkritie has about 100,000 such clients. The state Bank did not have data on their number when buying the bank. The transfer of Otkritie's clients to VTB will take place according to plan, but the remainder in the form of "silent" and deceased clients will not be liquidated. He will join the BM Bank. This will help to preserve the liabilities of non-contact customers. The ongoing legal proceedings of the "Discovery" with the former owners in London also played a role.
"Discovery" is waiting for a number of transformations before the final transfer. In May, Otkritie Broker will join the bank. In August and November, the blocked assets and liabilities of Otkritie and VTB will be transferred to two specially created organizations. In April, the Otkrytie NPF will be joined to the VTB NPF. As a result, Otkritie will be joined to BM-bank.
