VOSTOCHNAYA SHIPYARD LOST A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE MINISTRY OF DEFENSE FOR 817.6 MILLION
The Primorsky Shipbuilding plant "Vostochnaya Shipyard" could not terminate the state contract concluded with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in September 2014. The metropolitan Arbitration court rejected the claim of the bankrupt enterprise, which demanded to recover losses from the state in the amount of 817.6 million rubles, follows from the file of arbitration cases.

Earlier Rusbankrot has already described the state of the "Eastern Shipyard". At first, the St. Petersburg company "MSS" tried to declare a large shipyard insolvent. 2.16 million rubles were demanded from the company. However, it never reached the bankruptcy process, taking into account the losses of the enterprise for 2021 in 2.15 billion.

October of last year was marked by the filing of a bankruptcy application from the company itself. Its validity has yet to be considered by the arbitration on August 22. At the same time, the number of claims for the recovery of funds from the shipyard for millions of dollars continues to increase.

Located in Vladivostok, the enterprise, which has been leading its history since 1952, continues to function, engaged in the construction of crab fishing vessels. But the fate of the company is not only concerned about its management. The enterprise, where over 400 ships, including military equipment, were built in the second half of the XX century, remains an important link in the economic infrastructure of the region.

In March 2023, Rusbankrot wrote about a lawsuit received from the FSB of Russia. The amount of claims against the company by the special service, which is one of the customers of the company's products, exceeded 1.125 billion.

At the court session held on June 22, 2023, Promsvyazbank wanted to enter into bankruptcy proceedings without declaring independent claims regarding the subject of the lawsuit. The bank indicated that on November 12, 2021, it signed a contract with the company to open a credit line in the amount of 980.1 million until the end of June 2023. It was at the expense of these funds that it was supposed to finance the costs of the enterprise for the execution of the transaction with the Ministry of Defense.

The company has not liquidated the debt under the contract with Promsvyazbank. Despite this, the court refused to include the bank as a third party in the bankruptcy case of the Vostochnaya Shipyard.
