THE KARAT PLANT IS AGAIN AT AUCTION - FOR 295 MILLION
The Karata cannery in the Kaliningrad region (Pionersky) is being tried to sell at auction once again. The company belongs to the bankrupt company "Service Partner". The beneficiaries of the company, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, were Igor Korolev and Tatyana Radchenko. The cost of the lot this time is 295 million rubles.
The factory was a manufacturer of a wide range of canned fish. Since 2017, about 48 million units of products have been produced under the Karat brand. Modern equipment, which the company is equipped with, made it possible to produce canned products with various additives (oil, tomatoes, vegetables), blanched squid carcasses. But in 2023, the plant was shut down.
The bankruptcy of the company began in November 2020. The initiator of the process was Kaliningrad Packaging Plant, which subsequently transferred its rights to Investagro (renamed Ze Red Machines). The basis was the debt of the enterprise (6.2 million) for metal containers, which were supplied to the Service Partner company.
In 2021, the organization was put under surveillance. At the same time, the Rosselkhoznadzor and the tax authorities began to seek its insolvency. Their claims amounted to about 365.8 million and 9.9 million, respectively. The Bank did not get access to the inspection of the collateral, suspecting the risk of its alienation. But the court did not allow the bank to seize the assets of the plant, considering the fears of the credit institution insufficiently justified.
In February 2021, an application for personal bankruptcy of the co-owner of the enterprise was filed with the court. The amount of claims against Igor Korolev exceeded 252 million. However, an appeal in July 2021 overturned the decision of the primary instance on its insolvency.
To date, the company's property has been encumbered with collateral obligations in favor of RSHB (235 million) and Galabaltic (44.9 million). The value of assets not secured by collateral is about 15 million. The production complex of the plant is located on an area of 1.3 hectares. The lease agreement for the land plot is concluded until 2065. The three-storey structure (about 5,000 sq. m.) includes warehouses, refrigeration equipment, an administrative building and other property.
