THE BANKRUPT SIBMOST DISRUPTED THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY
The Novosibirsk arbitration court recovered more than 58 million rubles from the Sibmost bridge-building organization. The reason for this was the defects identified by the results of the inspection of the Yinu Bridge, built by the company already at the stage of the bankruptcy procedure that began. It is known that the bridge was part of the federal highway (M-52), known as the "Chuisky tract". It leads from Novosibirsk to the border with Mongolia.

Previously, the construction of the highway was carried out under a contract between the federal state institution Sibupravtodor and Sibmost. However, after the company's bankruptcy procedure began in 2020, its obligations under the contract were terminated, and the project was transferred to a new contractor, Novosibirsk Avtodor.

Novosibirsk Avtodor, having started work, conducted a survey of the bridge structures and found numerous defects that threatened its strength and safety. These problems forced the suspension of construction on this section of the highway.

The company sent a notification to the customer, FKU Sibupravtodor, about the need for warranty repairs, which Sibmost undertook to perform, but never fulfilled. The deadlines for eliminating defects were not met, and the company itself ignored the customer's requirements, which eventually led to the filing of a lawsuit.

The court proceedings established that the bankrupt company was actually unable to perform warranty repairs, which caused the delay in the construction of an important section of the M-52. The court ruled to recover 58.6 million rubles from Sibmost for unfulfilled obligations.

However, the probability of real execution of this decision is low. The claims of over a hundred creditors have already been registered in the Sibmost insolvency case. Obligations to them are about 9.5 billion. The process of inventory of the company's assets is still ongoing. The chances of paying off at least some of the debts remain, although they remain vague.
