The bankruptcy procedure was introduced in the Uralmechanika NPF, located in the city of Miass in the Chelyabinsk region. The decision to transfer the company under supervision was made by the local arbitration of the Chelyabinsk region. The court is scheduled to hear a report on the results of this stage at the end of July 2023.

The official owner of the company is Anastasia Bakunina. The company has been operating since 2005. Experts call the plant a leading manufacturer of professional equipment designed for extinguishing fires (trunks, towers and other fire extinguishing equipment). Information about the financial condition of the company has not been published in open sources since 2021.

The initiator of the bankruptcy of Uralmechanika was the trade and production company Tsvetmet, local media reported. The stated requirements amount to about 2.6 million rubles. The company engaged in the supply of metal and ore did not receive the necessary payment under the contract concluded in 2018.

It is also reported that the NPF actively cooperated with oil and gas companies. Former partners included Rosneft, Gazprom and other industry giants. It is not known whether any of them will make a financial claim during the monitoring process. In addition, Uralmechanika previously signed a contract with the government of Tanzania, supplying special vehicles to the country to disperse demonstrators.
