THE RISKS OF DEFAULT ARE INCREASING IN THE MONOPOLY LOGISTICS GROUP
The tax authorities have taken decisive action against the Lorry motor transport company, which is part of the troubled Monopoly holding company. According to data from the Federal Tax Service database, the fiscal service blocked operations on eleven bank accounts of the carrier. Accounts in the largest credit institutions are subject to restrictions. The total amount of blocked funds reached 254 million rubles.

In parallel with the blocking of the accounts of MI Federal Tax Service No. 4 in the Republic of Bashkortostan, she filed a lawsuit to declare JSC Lorri insolvent. The application was registered on February 18. This happened against the background of the fact that the parent structure of the issuer had previously defaulted on its debt obligations.

The financial pressure on the carrier is compounded by the activity of other creditors. Thus, Joint Stock Bank Rossiya (PJSC) filed a lawsuit against several companies of the corporate group at once. The bank's claims in the amount of about 286 million are addressed not only to Lorry, but also to the parent company, as well as to the Monopoly Online structure. In addition, over the past 30 days, the holding's head office has received more than a dozen lawsuits from various counterparties.

The representative of the bondholders, LC PI Investor Services, responded to the incident with an official request to the issuer. Investors are interested in how much the current litigation can affect the course of preparations for debt restructuring. Any bankruptcy proceedings within the group can significantly complicate negotiations and affect the movement of assets, which makes this information critically important for creditors.

It is worth noting that the Lorry company has a long history. It was founded in 1993 on the basis of the Uralmash plant's transport department and is engaged in cargo transportation both inside and outside the country. Now the company is part of the perimeter of the Globaltruck transport holding. Monopoly Holding, associated with entrepreneurs Ilya Dmitriev and Ekaterina Mikhailova, gained control of this asset in 2023, consolidating more than 75% of the shares.

The current situation complicates the already difficult circumstances in the parent structure. Earlier, the tax service had already suspended operations on the accounts of the Monopoly group itself in the amount of 63 million rubles. Market participants are also monitoring developments. A combination of factors – claims from the fiscal authorities, banking pressure and the crisis in the group – creates a high probability of launching a full-fledged bankruptcy procedure and further aggravating the situation around the business.
