THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE SUED THE ST. PETERSBURG "METROSTROY" BUILDING ON BAROCHNAYA STREET
On December 19, the Petrograd District Court granted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office. Themis decided to withdraw the building on Barochnaya Street from the bankrupt Metrostroy. Real estate should be converted into state income. The facility, which is formally a sports complex but is used as a business center, has become the last significant asset of the company in the framework of the insolvency case.

The key argument of the supervisory authority was the origin of the funds spent on construction. According to the prosecutor's office, the financing was carried out at the expense of budget allocations allocated for the development of the subway, which gave them a corrupt connotation and made it impossible for this asset to participate in civil turnover, including its sale at auction during the bankruptcy process.

The ownership history of this building is complex. It was built with funds from Metrostroy as part of a partnership with Metroparking. But the ownership was initially registered for the latter. After the bankruptcy procedure was introduced, the bankruptcy trustee managed to return the object to the debtor's bankruptcy estate through the court, since by that time the main property of the enterprise had already been sold.

The debtor's representative, KU, disagrees with the decision of the court of first instance and announced his intention to appeal it. His position is that Metrostroy also had its own off-budget financial sources. Allegations of misuse of public money, according to KU, do not have sufficient documentary evidence. However, the court found the prosecutor's arguments convincing, supporting the claim.
