THE PROPERTY OF THE CO-FOUNDER OF VENTURE TRADE LIMITED REMAINED UNDER ARREST
The assets of Nikita Shavva, co-founder of Venture Trade Limited, remain under arrest. This decision was made by the court of the Russian capital, which considered the complaint of the entrepreneur and the request to cancel the arrest.

The criminal investigation into the tanker disaster became the basis for the previously established restrictions on the businessman's property. The accident of a ship engaged in the transportation of fuel oil occurred at the end of last year. The tanker Volgoneft-239 caused large-scale pollution of the Black Sea water area, which qualifies as a national emergency.

The main SU TFR launched an investigation, guided by part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Rosneft Oil Company was recognized as one of the parties recognized as the victim. The significant losses that the oil refining company suffered from the loss of the transported fuel oil were taken into account. Irreparable damage was also inflicted on the environment of the region.

The investigative authorities have taken interim measures against the owner of the vessel, Volgatransneft. They also included the shareholders of the organization, which included the companies SK Development and Venture Trade Limited. Nikita Shavva was the co-owner of this company. As a result, the first judicial instance, at the request of the investigation, seized the entrepreneur's personal property, including his residential real estate.

The entrepreneur tried to appeal the interim measures. He indicated that he was only a member of the LLC. At the same time, the company itself continues to operate, is not bankrupt and has not been liquidated. He stressed that he does not appear in the case as an accused or a suspect. The properties that were previously acquired by him have no connection with the shipowner. The apartments became the property of Shavva long before his participation in the capital of Volgatransneft CJSC.

But the court was not convinced by his arguments. The Moscow City Court's act states that the arrest is aimed at providing a potential opportunity to collect fines and other penalties in a civil lawsuit. The damage is significant. Therefore, the court considered that the measures were justified.

Recall that the wreck of the tanker Volgoneft-239 is not the only incident that occurred on the Black Sea. During the same period, another vessel, Volgoneft-212, sank. The Russian supervisory authority has submitted claims in the amount of about 85 billion rubles to the Kuban arbitration. The Anapa tourist Administration and the marine rescue Service are also seeking compensation for the costs associated with the elimination of the consequences of the disaster. They demand over 860 million rubles.
