THE KNOWLEDGE DAY CELEBRATORY ASSEMBLIES WILL BE CANCELLED IN SCHOOLS OF MOSCOW

The Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin officially announced the cancellation of any public events, including celebratory assemblies on the occasion of the Knowledge Day.

The Mayor noted that the risk of the spread of coronavirus infection remains, and therefore certain requirements have already been developed for schools.

Temperature measurements and disinfection at school entrances should be organized by September.

Additionally, there will be restrictions on movement within the school. For different classes, certain classrooms will be allocated, in which classes should be mainly conducted. Exceptions to this may be lessons that require special equipment, such as physics and chemistry.

Sergei Sobyanin paid special attention to the topic of masks, indicating that the issue of wearing them for schoolchildren has already been resolved - the masks will not be required. As for the teachers, they will have to follow the requirements of the schools administration in accordance with the current epidemiological situation.

The Mayor also touched on the topic of vaccination against COVID-19, saying that the city, if possible, would offer teachers to be vaccinated, since they are at risk due to the large number of social contacts.

Speaking about the epidemiological situation in the capital as a whole, the Mayor denied information about the return of restrictions from mid-September, noting that the situation with the spread of coronavirus in Moscow has already stabilized.
