THE GOVERNMENT OF RUSSIA HAS SIMPLIFIED THE PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING DISABILITY

The Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree which is very important for a number of Russian citizens. It deals with the procedure for obtaining a disability and is intended to simplify the procedure by making it less burdensome.

According to the new rules, in a situation where incomplete information about medical examinations of a patient sent from a hospital is found, employees of the Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise (MSE) will independently require the necessary information.

The document also sets the deadlines: 3 working days for the MSE bureau specialists to send a request and 14 working days for the clinic staff to respond to it.

According to the rules that are currently in force, in a similar case, a citizen is forced to independently reapply to the hospital and collect the necessary data. The new rules should start working as early as next year, immediately after the cancellation of the temporary decree on the obtaining disability, introduced in connection with the pandemic.

According to it, until March next year, an automatic extension of disability for a period of six months has been established for those who, according to the law, have the need to re-confirm their status. As for the citizens who receive a disability status for the first time, they are temporarily allowed to receive it without visiting the MSE bureau.
