The Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare has prepared new recommendations on the work of public catering organizations. The corresponding draft law has already been published on the federal portal.



The recommendations still contain requirements for preventing the spread of coronavirus infection. Among the measures, there are the obligatory daily measurements of the body temperature for employees, a mask regime for personnel, as well as the supply of all the workers with antiseptics.

The department paid individual attention to the disposal of the used masks, which are recommended to be changed every 2-3 hours.

The masks should be collected and disposed of in the double plastic bags.

Among other things, it is proposed to prohibit cafes, restaurants and all kinds of catering establishments from including any items not directly related to the order in the bill. In particular, the "spot-list" includes tips and various commissions. If such grounds for payment are included in the invoice, the client has the right to demand a refund of the amount paid.

What is more, the draft law contains an innovation related to the remote orders. When providing such services, the information provided to the consumer should be expanded: in addition to the information about the cost and payment terms, it is necessary to provide information about the nutritional value of products, the content of the proteins, fat and carbohydrates in them, as well as the content of vitamins.

For a distance selling, the department offers the catering establishments to provide customers with the opportunity to leave their comments in the electronic book of complaints and suggestions.
