THE COURT SEIZED PART OF THE ASSETS OF THE KYSHTYM MACHINE-BUILDING ASSOCIATION
The financial difficulties of Kyshtym's main enterprise, located on the eastern slopes of the Ural Mountains, continue to grow. The Chelyabinsk Arbitration Court (AS CHO) decided to partially seize the assets of the Kyshtym Machine-Building Association (KMO JSC), without affecting the company's production processes and financial operations.

The property of the enterprise worth 121.4 million rubles was seized. The relevant act was published in the judicial file (case no.A76-18562/2024). The basis for the interim measures was the petition of the ASTO Consulting company. It was this organization that in November last year achieved the procedural replacement of the original plaintiff (MTS-Bank) in the insolvency case.

The arbitration partially satisfied the applicant's claims: the debtor's accounts and manufactured products were not seized. The judicial act noted that the blocking of these assets could completely paralyze the activities of the enterprise, which is a city-forming city for Kyshtym.

Today, KMO remains one of the largest production facilities in the Russian Federation producing mining equipment and drilling tools. The organization is part of the KANEX industrial group and plays a key role in the economy of Kyshtym. The company's products are supplied to various regions of the country.

Creditors' financial claims have been increasing over the past few years. The tax service was the first to demand that the company be declared bankrupt, but later withdrew the claim, concluding a settlement agreement and agreeing to restructure the 156 million debt. However, MTS-Bank soon made similar demands, demanding that the defendant recover $121 million. The credit institution also initiated the bankruptcy of other affiliated organizations, including two trading houses, the Kanex Technology company and the Shchekinsky KVOIT Plant.

The crisis at the plant has been worsening for several years. The company ended 2022 with a loss of 115 million. The year before last, the negative result reached 159 million. About two dozen lawsuits to the arbitration courts were filed by the company's counterparties. Their total amount varies from 90 thousand to 5.3 million rubles.

To mitigate the consequences, last summer, officials of the Kyshtym district and the Ministry of Industry of the region sent petitions to the Federal Tax Service to postpone the collection period. The company has provided documents for obtaining a deferral of obligations. Despite these measures, the situation around the city-forming plant remains tense.
