The court refused to review the recovery of ˆ1.3 billion from Angstrom in favor of VEB
An attempt by the company "Logic" to seek a review of the verdict of the court, which recovered from the company "Angstrom" in favor of VEB.Russia over ˆ1.3 billion, ended in failure. Angstrom secured the loan signed between VEB and Angstrom-T in 2008. The funds were intended to build a Zelenograd microelectronics plant. By that time, both organizations were controlled by former Communications Minister Reiman. Due to non-fulfillment of obligations by the main borrower, VEB initiated debt collection from Angstrom.
Declared by the state corporation VEB.The Russian Federation recognized the claims of three judicial instances as justified and satisfied the claim in full. The amount of the penalty included not only the principal debt, but also penalties as well. Later, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation also refused to reverse the decisions, rejecting the appeal.
In a lawsuit filed with AC GM, Logika argued that the amount awarded to VEB practically eliminates the possibility of satisfying the claims of other creditors. The statement also raised the issue of the alleged affiliation of the state corporation with Angstrom. According to the plaintiff, this does not comply with the principles of public order in the framework of the insolvency case.
However, the AU GM considered the arguments unfounded. The court considered the facts cited in Logika's statement to be already known, while the organization referred to them as "newly discovered circumstances." In addition, the possible affiliation of the parties, in the opinion of the court, cannot in itself be a reason to refuse to collect the debt. As a result, the lawsuit was dropped.
