THE BANKRUPT TANTALUM PLANT WAS PUT UP FOR AUCTION FOR 1.3 BILLION

The production complex of the Saratov Tantalum plant, located in the Leninsky district, was put up for auction. It is necessary to sell the plant within the framework of competitive production, which is being held by PJSC Tantalus. The initial cost of the enterprise is 1.3 billion. The relevant information about this was published on the Fedresource portal.

The organizer of the auction is the bankruptcy trustee Anatoly Dokukin. The competition itself is scheduled for April 17th. The announcement informs about the need to make a deposit in the amount of 10% of the initial price of the lot. The property complex includes real estate (buildings, land plots), vehicles and production equipment (machine tools, power transformers).

In June 2021, Rusbankrot already announced the bankruptcy of the Tantalum plant. The company, founded in 1949, was declared insolvent due to the loss of demand for its products in the civil sector. The company, which produced equipment for aviation and space, produced microwave equipment and vacuum devices, could not cope with financial problems on its own.

Tantalus' financial problems manifested themselves in 2018. By this time, numerous creditors had filed lawsuits against the plant. In April 2019, a special government commission took over the enterprise, which recognized the work of the owners and managers of the plant as ineffective. The head of the company, Solopov, was prosecuted. The company owes the staff more than 6.7 million in salary. The property of the plant (in particular, scrap metal) was periodically stolen.

The court brought the ex-heads of the organization to subsidiary liability. In February 2024, the court adopted a corresponding act against the ex-president of the company, Alexander Solopov, and the founder of the Tantalus Shield company, Vadim Ivankov. In 2022, the petition of the bankruptcy trustee for the application of a subsidy to the top management of the organization was rejected.

It is reported that the buyer of the lot will be obliged to preserve the purpose of the plant and, in particular, the mobilization purpose of the property. Some of the company's assets have already been sold. In the spring of 2023, a sports and recreation camp was sold for 4.1 million and the building of the factory recreation center for 60.5 million. It housed the Saratov Opera and Ballet Theatre.
