THE AMOUNT OF FINES MIGHT BE MITIGATED FOR THE REPRESENTATIVES OF SMALL BUSINESSES

The head of the Ministry of Justice, Konstantin Chuichenko, speaking at a meeting on the adoption of a new Code of Administrative Offenses, stated the need to reduce administrative fines for organizations related to small businesses.

In this regard, it was proposed to equalize administrative fines for individual entrepreneurs and small businesses.

The Minister noted that the measure will help to support small businesses and reduce the burden for them.

At the moment, the difference between the fines established for the individual entrepreneurs and legal entities, which include small businesses, is quite large. For example, in case of loss of documents that confirm the economic activity of the company, the individual entrepreneur will have to pay 10 thousand rubles, and the company - 500 thousand rubles.

The draft of the new Code of Administrative Offenses is being actively discussed at the level of the Government bodies. Earlier, Boris Titov, who holds the post of Presidential Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs, criticized the possible increase in fines for business, while the administrative punishment for officials had been previously proposed to be left at the same level or be reduced.

The idea of increasing the fines for violation of traffic rules was criticized as well, after which the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed to finalize the documents of this part, making the punishment proportionate to the population's ability to pay.
