THE ALL-RUSSIAN TRADE UNION OF MEDIATORS CREATED IN RUSSIA

The day before, the first All-Russian conference of the All-Russian Trade Union of Mediators was held in the building of the Russian Federation of Independent Trade Unions. The organization was created to popularize mediation and provide mediators with a constant flow of clients.

The first All-Russian conference of the trade union of mediators was attended by 45 delegates from different regions of the Russian Federation. By unanimous decision, Vladimir Kuznetsov was elected the chairman of the organization. He is known as the vice president of the Association of Lawyers and Law Firms for Registration, Liquidation, Bankruptcy and Legal Representation, as well as a member of the General Council and head of the mediation working group of Business Russia.

The guests of the event were the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions David Krishtal, a member of the FITU’s General Council and Chairman of the Russian Bar Trade Union Grigory Abukov, a Chairman of the All-Russian Trade Union of Arbitration Managers Mikhail Vasilega, as well as the mediators from all over Russia.

During the vote, it was decided not to charge entrance and membership fees in 2021.

All the participants agreed with the idea that for the moment, there were no systemic solutions for the implementation of mediation. The institution of mediation has existed for more than 10 years, but it has not been widely developed in the Russian Federation.

Vladimir Kuznetsov raised the question that the mediators who have completed their training, remain without work. The union, in turn, will work to ensure the employment and welfare of mediators.
