TAX AUTHORITIES WARNED THE CINEMA AND CONCERT COMPLEX IN ROSTOV ABOUT BANKRUPTCY
The cinema and concert complex "Rus" in Rostov was threatened with a court appeal by the tax authorities. They announced plans to apply to arbitration with an application for insolvency of the company. The publication on April 3, 2024 was made on the Fedresource portal.

It is known that the defendant has existed in the region since 2005. The organization was established by local authorities and persons who managed the building of the "old" city bus station. The purpose of the investment project was the reconstruction of the Rossiya cinema, built back in the 1950s. As part of its participation (25% share) in the project, the Rostov administration has included two real estate objects in it – the building itself and the land plot located under it. The reconstruction work was supposed to be completed by 2008.

During the inspection of the building, it turned out that its reconstruction was technically impractical. The building, which received the status of a cultural heritage site in the 1990s, is easier to demolish and rebuild in its place. As a result, the building on Pushkinskaya Street was demolished, and the new cinema was never built.

At the beginning of 2024, it was reported that the main beneficiary of the company with a share of 74.99% was Evgeny Degtyarev, who owns the Zenit-Development construction company. He acquired the Rostdonautovokzal company, which was assigned ownership rights. Previously, the businessman was a deputy in the regional Legislative Assembly.

In his interviews, Degtyarev told reporters that he wants to build a large shopping and entertainment center on the site of the demolished cinema building by 2027. It is not clear whether these plans will be implemented if representatives of the Federal Tax Service manage to initiate bankruptcy proceedings in the arbitration court. The company itself suffered more than 400 thousand losses in 2023.
