Sevastopol fish cannery Aquamarine is experiencing serious financial difficulties. The company is preparing for bankruptcy. Against this background, it begins the sale of seized property. On May 16, 2025, an auction is scheduled to be held for which industrial equipment will be exhibited.
A packing machine used for packing food into cans is offered for sale. The lot price is 861.05 thousand rubles. It is known that this equipment can fill up to 65 cans per minute. This makes the machine an important element in the canned food production process.
Previously, the plant was one of the leading enterprises in the region with plans to expand production. Ten years ago, the company acquired modern Spanish equipment. At the same time, production volumes at that time reached 3.77 million cans per month. Top management announced plans to increase the production of cans to 9 million. However, despite these ambitions, the plant was unable to return to high performance.
Five years ago, the Sevastopol city authorities announced that fishing vessels would be specially built for the plant. However, years have passed, and not a single vessel has been built. Moreover, the prosecutor's office initiated criminal proceedings in connection with non-payment of salaries to 179 employees of the enterprise. In May 2024, the case ended with the fact that the funds were found and the debt to the employees was repaid.
The Aquamarine plant has not shown stable financial results for a long time. The company was profitable in 2017. After that, the plant generated annual losses and could not fulfill its obligations. Official contacts of the fish cannery are unavailable. Aquamarine's management also does not comment on the situation, which only confirms the seriousness of the company's financial situation.
Earlier this year, the company decided to exclude it from the list of residents of free economic zones. In early April, the Sevastopol Arbitration Court decided to introduce a monitoring procedure at the plant (case No. A84-No. 9036/2022).
Despite its difficult financial situation, Aquamarine remains a member of the city's fishing cluster. This gives him the right to receive government support. However, the real situation at the enterprise remains tense. His future now depends on the outcome of the bankruptcy procedure and the ability to find investors or achieve stabilization. The disposition of property and the upcoming court proceedings will be an important stage in the debt liquidation process.
