SAMARA PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURER FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY DUE TO DEBT OF 2.29 BILLION
The Arbitration Court of the Samara Region (AS SO) has officially launched an insolvency mechanism in relation to Hippocrates LLC. The initiator of the process was the company itself, which produces alcohol-containing medicines. The reason for the appeal was the debt in the amount of 2.29 billion rubles, which the company was unable to repay.

The history of the change of ownership of the organization, founded back in 1999, is full of regular transfers of rights. For a long time, the asset aroused public associations with entrepreneur Dmitry Ostrovsky (the latter was his co-owner until 2012).

Later, the composition of the founders changed. By the beginning of 2024, Tatiana Rogozhkina was still among the beneficiaries of the company. But already in February of the same year Rail Daminov became the sole owner of the enterprise. At the same time, his share is still burdened with collateral in favor of Rogozhkina. This fact suggests a connection between the current owner and previous beneficiaries.

The situation with the security measures introduced by the court in the fall of 2025 looks extremely revealing. The initiators of such measures were the tax authorities. In order to prevent a complete shutdown of the conveyor and the collapse of finances, the execution of the act on additional accrual of mandatory payments was then temporarily blocked. The Matreshka Plaza sanatorium and wellness complex (estimated at 1.77 billion) served as the guarantor. It was him that "Hippocrates" pledged.

The key point of no return was the claims of the Samara Federal Tax Service No.1. At the end of March, the arbitration rejected the company's attempt to challenge the act of the fiscal service. It was about impressive additional charges (taxes, etc.) in the amount of 2.86 billion. This finally undermined the debtor's position.

It is worth noting that the insolvency claim itself has been submitted to the AU SINCE March 26. The date of the court's review of the validity of creditors' claims is set for the end of April. The current owner of the enterprise, Daminov, is also involved in the litigation as a third party.

The assets associated with the sanatorium complex also have a difficult fate. It was managed by the Resorts of the Volga Region Society, previously affiliated with Ostrovsky. Later, control passed to the firm "Juice Island". Shares of a number of related companies were secured by structures close to the Rosselkhoznadzor. A large share in the assets of the Vertical business center belongs to a person who is associated by the media with the former owners of Hippocrates. As a result, the gigantic tax requirements combined with the complicated ownership configuration led the manufacturer to a logical conclusion – bankruptcy proceedings.
