Russians may soon switch to a four-day working week
The day before, parliamentarian Yaroslav Nilov noted that a four-day working week could be established in Russia in the nearest future.  According to the deputy, such a possibility was also prompted by the pandemic, during which some companies switched to a lighter work schedule in order to retain personnel and continue activities.

Speaking about such changes, Nilov noted that the main condition for the introduction of a new schedule should be a gradual change, but not a forced implementation at the legislative level. The parliamentarian noted that at the moment a number of companies are already operating in this mode.

The switch to a four-day working week will be possible for both remote and part-time employees.

Separately, Nilov recalled that when making a decision on the transition to a four-day working week, it is important to take the specifics of work of a particular company into account. If, for example, we talk about enterprises of continuous cycle, then such an innovation may simply be inappropriate there. At the same time, in some areas of business, a similar decision can lead to a decrease in the level of profit of companies.

The politician suggested that the labor market will be able to independently regulate itself in this matter, as artificial introduction of new regulations in this case may be inappropriate, RIA Novosti reports.

The parliamentarian also noted the changes that had taken place in the field of production: now workers are increasingly moving into the status of machine operators, since technologies are developing. This trend will allow people to invest more in themselves and their own intelligence, the deputy concluded.
