RUSSIAN FEDERAL STATE AGENCY FOR HEALTH AND CONSUMER RIGHTS: WORKING HOURS SHOULD BE REDUCED DUE TO ABNORMAL HEAT
Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights published on its website a recommendation, according to which employers should shorten the working day of employees in conditions of high air temperatures.

The department recalled that in the majority of Russian regions, the heat has set in. This fact cannot but affect the quality of working conditions for employees of organizations working in open areas or in rooms without air conditioning.

If the room temperature reaches 28.5 degrees, Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights recommends reducing the working day by an hour.

If the air warms up to 29 degrees - for 2 hours and for 4 hours if the temperature reaches30.5 degrees. If we are talking about activities in an open space, then when the temperature reaches 32.5 degrees, work should not last more than 15-20 minutes. After that, employees should be allowed to rest for 10-12 minutes in a cool room.

In total, for a shift in the open air, the thermal load should not last more than 4-5 hours in the presence of special clothing. If case the clothing is not, the time spent in the sun should be no more than 1.5-2 hours.

Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights recommended maintaining the 24-25 degrees temperature in the premises.

If the outside temperature exceeds 32.5 degrees, then the supervisory authority does not recommend doing outdoor activities - in this case, work should be postponed to the morning or evening. At the same time, when working in hot weather, clothes should be tight, and the age of the workers themselves should be at least 25 and no more than 40 years.

Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights reminded employers about the observance of the drinking regime - water must be provided in sufficient quantities, the recommended temperature of drinks is 10-15 degrees. To avoid the loss of trace elements in hot weather, employees should be provided with salted or mineral water, as well as fermented milk products.
