RUSSIAN BUSINESS CONTINUES TO RECORD A DECREASE IN DEMAND
Russian companies are facing a decrease in demand, which indicates that the economy is in recession. This was stated by the president of the All-Russian public organization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) "Support of Russia" Alexander Kalinin.

As Alexander Kalinin told Vedomosti, high loan servicing costs force businesses to optimize costs, including by reducing staff, while increasing labor productivity. At the same time, attempts to transfer increased costs to the consumer are futile due to high competition.

Earlier, in August, analysts at the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-term Forecasting warned of the risks of the economy going into recession in 2026, even with further monetary easing by the Bank of Russia.
