RECOMMENDATIONS OF FEDRAL SERVICE FOR SURVEILLANCE ON CONSUMER RIGHTS PROTECTION AND HUMAN WELLBEING MIGHT BECOME MANDATORY FOR BUSINESS

At a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordination Council for Combating the Spread of Coronavirus, the head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing Anna Popova announced the idea of making the recommendations developed by the department mandatory for execution.

According to Popova, the maximum number of COVID-19 patients is being recorded among the working population, which justifies the importance of following the recommendations developed by the department. However, due to the recommendatory nature of the rules, not all employers strive to comply with them.

In response to the initiative, Mikhail Mishustin ordered to “work out” the idea. In his opinion, such measures will help to reduce the risk of the spread of coronavirus infection and save the lives and health of citizens.

If the recommendations are transferred to the status of sanitary standards, their non-compliance will threaten legal entities with fines ranging from 200 to 500 thousand rubles, as well as suspension of activities for up to 3 months.

For the moment, the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing has developed about 40 methodological recommendations for various business areas. Some of them are respected without the threat of tough sanctions, but this does not apply to all of them.

In particular, the recommendations provide one and a half meter distance between tables in a cafe, providing masks for workers and students, as well as providing the latter with separate rooms for group studies.
