Novokuznetsk refrigerating plant is facing the threat of bankruptcy
Novokuznetsk Refrigerating Plant (JSC), part of the NK Group holding company, managed by Andrey Bachurin, was one step away from insolvency. The lawsuit that threatens the ice cream manufacturer was initiated by 6 creditors. In addition to two individuals and Kuznetskbusinessbank, these companies include Regent and Business Referent. The amount of possible debt owed to them is more than 1.2 billion.

The claims of the companies will be considered in the Kemerovo Arbitration Court (AS CO) in the near future. Last month, T-Bank also announced its plans to initiate bankruptcy. The amount of outstanding obligations to him has not yet been disclosed.

Experts believe that the reason for the financial problems of the organization could be rising costs and increased imports of products to the Russian Federation. Against this background, the profitability of domestic ice cream production is declining, which forces companies to rethink marketing strategies.

The refrigeration plant was founded in 1994. In Siberia, it is known by the trademarks "Marusya" and "Snow Town". According to data from last year, the company's revenue amounted to 1.62 billion, which is almost 10% less than in 2023. At the same time, the losses of the ice cream manufacturer amounted to about 5.1 million. By the beginning of 2025, the amount of debt obligations reached 1.28 billion (7.48% more than the previous figures).

The holding company, which includes the organization, is one of the largest Siberian ice cream producers. Last year, it produced 7.4 thousand tons of products. This placed it in 20th place in the market in terms of the volume of ice cream produced. However, the economic situation has become worse. The prices of raw materials have increased, and the shortage of professional personnel has also affected. Products imported from neighboring Belarus create additional competition.

Experts note that the Russian market is experiencing a crisis situation. Sales decreased by 4.5% in the first half of the year. The reason for this is the cold Siberian summer. Moreover, in Siberia, the decrease turned out to be even more significant – up to 10.4%. In times of crisis, manufacturers have to turn on optimization, reducing supply chains and adapting to new market conditions.
