MOSCOW RESIDENTS WILL HAVE TO COMPLY WITH SELF-ISOLATION REGIME IN CASE OF HAVING FLU
Anastasia Rakova, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, said that from now on, all residents of the capital who fall ill with flu will be required to comply with self-isolation regime.

She stressed out that from July 2, flu will be considered as a potential Covid-19 in Moscow. Another innovation is that a doctor who comes from a polyclinic will not only do a PCR test, but will also do an antigen test. It will be allowed to stop self-isolation only after receiving a negative Covid-19 test.

Rakova noted that it is impossible to distinguish between flu and coronavirus in the first days of illness.

The antigen test will be taken not only from potential patients, but also from those who live on the same living space with them. This type of analysis helps to early and quickly diagnose coronavirus, but it does not replace the main PCR test.

The city government believes that the new measures will improve and speed up the diagnostic assessment of Covid-19. Thus, the authorities expect to start treating patients faster and reduce the number of severe cases. Anastasia Rakova also noted that the ‘delta’ strain now prevails over all other varieties of the virus.
