MOSCOW ANNOUNCED MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION FOR SERVICE SECTOR WORKERS

MOSCOW ANNOUNCED MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION FOR SERVICE SECTOR WORKERS
Information about the start of the mandatory vaccination of the capital's service workers has appeared on the website of the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin. The measure will be introduced due to the critical rates of morbidity and mortality from coronavirus.

The order for mandatory vaccination was adopted on June 16, 2021. The information system, which will be able to control vaccination, will be developed by July 1. The Department of Health of the capital and control bodies will help to implement the new measure.

It is noted that more than 12 thousand patients of different severity stay in Moscow hospitals at the moment.

Over the past day, 70 people have died. The Mayor's website says that most of the current victims of the pandemic would not get sick if they had been vaccinated. What is more, almost all patients regret not having the vaccine, but the time is lost.

It is reported that the phrase ‘vaccination is a personal matter for everyone’ works exactly as long as the person stays at home or on the outskirts of the city. If he (she) actively interacts with other people and is in public places, he (she) still gets into the chain of distribution of Covid-19.

This is especially true for service workers, since they serve an indefinite circle of people and cannot consider vaccination only ‘their own business’.

According to official data, more than 1.8 million of residents of Moscow have already been vaccinated, but this is not enough for a city with a population of about 20 million people. Sobyanin noted that Moscow needs mass vaccinations to stop the spread of coronavirus. The mayor stressed out that this decision is not simple, but necessary in the current situation.
