LAWYER FINED FOR JOKING ABOUT DIA
For the first time, a representative was fined in the Russian arbitration for disrespect to a participant in the process (case no. A40-21753/21).

As part of the bankruptcy case of the insurance company Spassky Vorota-M, the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) applied to the court for recovery of losses from the controlling debtor of the person (CDL). The lawyer of one of the defendants in the case, in his response to the applicant's position, went too far with barbs against his opponent. Instead of focusing his arguments around the subject of the dispute, the defendant's representative focused on the personality and qualities of the young DIA lawyer. The following phrases appeared in the written response to the position of the organization:

"It is only regrettable that the foundations of cognitive activity in some young lawyers are directed only to search engines on the Internet (Google, Yandex, etc.)."

"However, this is just an unsubstantiated statement by a person with barely completed higher legal education who has no experience in economic activity."

The agency did not put up with such a characterization of its representative and demanded that the lawyer be held accountable in the form of a court fine, since his statements contradict the norms of the Arbitration Procedural Code (APC) of the Russian Federation and fundamentally violate the Code of Professional Ethics of a lawyer. The courts of three instances agreed with this position.

The lawyer was found guilty of contempt of court and participants in the process and fined 2,000 rubles.
