KORABLIK CHILDREN'S GOODS CHAIN IS AGAIN UNDER THREAT OF BANKRUPTCY
One of the main structures of a retail chain selling goods for children. The Korablik-R Company risks entering a new stage in the insolvency case. The company has received a notification from Kroc Inc. CJSC (affiliated with the Kroc IT firm). It announced its intention to file for bankruptcy.

It is important to recall the background. In the fall of 2024, the company was already involved in the insolvency case. At that time, creditors filed more than 40 claims. However, in February of this year, the Moscow Arbitration Court (AC GM) decided to terminate the proceedings. The reason was that Korablik-R did not have the assets necessary to pay for the manager's work and other expenses.

Experts do not rule out that a new attempt to initiate the procedure makes sense. Practice shows that when bankruptcy proceedings are launched, creditors have the right to challenge the debtor's transactions for the period preceding bankruptcy. Even property formally transferred to other organizations can be returned to the bankruptcy estate.

It is significant that the deterioration of the retailer's financial health lasted for years. By the end of 2019, the amount of proceeds reached 13.2 billion rubles. But by 2023, revenue had already collapsed to 1 billion. By this time, the organization had received about 70 lawsuits for almost 360 million.

The appearance of the "Ship" on the market dates back to the early noughties (founder – Alexey Zuev). Three years ago, 5% of the business was acquired by the owner of the toy distributor MTK Alice. Almost immediately, a similar share went to the firm "Kerbin", associated with the fund A &NN Investments. The main package was retained by JSC Korablik, which was later liquidated.

Stores under the old brand have not been developed since 2024. Some of the outlets have been relaunched under the Toyspro and Toyspro trademarks, designed by Kerbin. Today, 11 retail outlets operate under this brand: most in the capital, some in the Moscow region and Sochi.

Analysts agree that the Ship had systemic problems. The key factors of the crisis are an impressive debt burden, a drop in traffic in regular stores and increased pressure from marketplaces.

The overall picture on the children's goods market is not encouraging either. The segment's turnover in 2025 increased to 2.1 trillion rubles (+15%), but real sales, on the contrary, decreased by 8%. Creative goods (-13%) and toys (-5%) sank especially strongly. A decrease in the birth rate and the growing popularity of second-hand goods also have an impact: more and more families with children prefer used items.
