FEMIDA IN REMOTE: THE COURTS ARE CLOSING BECAUSE OF CORONAVIRUS
The reason for such harsh measures was the joint Decree of the Presidiums of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation adopted on March 18 this year. The document states the need for protection against coronavirus infection and the application of a number of measures.

The courts have already begun to enforce the judgment.

The Moscow Arbitration Court:

  • announced the cancellation of all meetings until April 10 inclusive (there will only be a consideration of the cases of an order and simplified proceedings);

  • canceled the acceptance of documents in the courthouse – now you can do it only through the “My Arbiter” service;

  • limited the opportunity to get acquainted with the cases (it is possible to get acquainted only for the purposes of preparing for an appeal or cassation if there is an adopted judicial act);

  • limited the issuance of the writs of consent – such writs are issued only on interim measures now.

The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region suspended the reception and issuance of the documents, the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the cases, and also cancelled the meetings, with the exception of the processes of bringing to administrative responsibility.

The Arbitration Court of the Kaliningrad Region canceled all meetings and limited the acceptance of the documents and citizens in the courthouse.

The Arbitration Court of the Chelyabinsk Region recommended not to visit the courthouse without urgent need and to submit documents electronically, if possible. Similar measures on the cancellation of the court hearings have been introduced in other courts as well.
