ENTREPRENEUR ACQUIRES 300 MILLION USD FROM FORMER OWNER OF URALAUTOIMPORT
As part of the insolvency case of Sergey Shaklein, the former head of the Uralavtoimport automobile holding, a key recoverer was replaced. At the end of June, the Perm Arbitration Court (AS PK) officially registered the transfer of the creditor's rights from SBK Uran to Perm businessman Georgy Kharchenko. Now it is he who has the right to claim a former top manager for a total amount of about 303 million rubles.
This debt includes a body of debt in the amount of 252.1 million and interest in the amount of 51.2 million rubles. This is not the first time Kharchenko has engaged in such practices in the field of bankruptcy proceedings. Previously, he had already purchased the debt obligations of other companies from the same organization, SBK Uran. In particular, in 2022, he acquired the troubled assets of the Ex Auto and Dobrynya holdings. Previously, these assets were part of the portfolio of one of the largest banks.
Sergey Shaklein lost his status as a solvent entity back in 2018. After that, the procedure for the sale of his assets was initiated. The legal proceedings involved not only his personal assets but also the property affiliated with legal entities. By that time, the companies belonging to the Uralavtoimport group were already experiencing financial difficulties. For a long time, Uralavtoimport was considered the flagship of the car dealership market in the region. Sberbank was also the main beneficiary of the claims against the holding's structures.
In addition, legal disputes related to the property of the former owner's relatives are still ongoing. At the end of last year, Shakleina's wife and their son, Yuri, filed a complaint with the country's highest court. They are challenging the decisions of lower courts that have annulled the sale and purchase agreement for a foreign property, a villa and land in Alicante, Spain. According to the case file, the property, with a total area of 508 square meters, was registered in 2011 in the name of Yuri Shakleina. However, in 2022, he sold the properties to Rasa Galgotienė, a Lithuanian citizen and a native of Norilsk. Later, the court declared the transaction null and void and ordered the ex-dealer's son to return 6.5 million rubles to the bankruptcy estate. The appeal and cassation confirmed the validity of this verdict, prompting the family to appeal to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
The personal bankruptcy proceedings against Shaklein were initiated by a lawsuit filed by a Perm-based credit institution. In 2014-2015, the bank provided several loans totaling 107 million to Ural Motors-Premium. She was an integral part of the holding company. Sergey Shaklein acted as a guarantor for these borrowed funds. It was this commitment that later became the key factor that led to his financial collapse.
