E-COMMERCE COMPANIES ARE ASKED TO EXTEND THE MORATORIUM ON BANKRUPTCY
E-COMMERCE COMPANIES ARE ASKED TO EXTEND THE MORATORIUM ON BANKRUPTCY
This position is taken by the Association of E-Commerce Companies, on behalf of which a letter was sent to the Government of the Russian Federation requesting the extension of restrictive measures, the validity of which ends on October 1.
According to representatives of the Association, the end of the moratorium will lead to a wave of bankruptcies in the current economic situation, especially in the retail sector, when many foreign suppliers have stopped cooperating with Russian companies, and parallel imports do not fully cope with the task.
It is worth noting that earlier representatives of the executive power spoke about the inexpediency of extending the moratorium, since the goal that was pursued when it was introduced in April of this year - ensuring the stability of the Russian economy, coupled with other support measures, was achieved.
In addition, recently, within the framework of the WEF held in Vladivostok, the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov said that the Government does not plan to extend the moratorium and the corresponding decision has already been made.
At the same time, Reshetnikov made a reservation regarding the willingness to discuss exceptions with business representatives.
Thus, despite the fact that, most likely, the moratorium will not be extended globally, exceptions will be made for a number of industries and a certain procedure will be established for extending the moratorium on bankruptcy proceedings to them.
