DUMA DEPUTIES WANT TO CHECK RUSNANO DUE TO POSSIBLE BANKRUPTCY

The State Duma has taken the initiative to check the state corporation in connection with the possibility of recognizing Rusnano as insolvent. The incentive for this for the Duma deputies was the departure of the ex-head of the state corporation Anatoly Chubais abroad.

The instruction assumes that two Duma committees will immediately turn to the executive branch with a request. The deputies want to receive a financial report from the government on the activities of the organization during the entire period of its work. After that, the documents will be submitted to the Accounting Chamber, as well as to law enforcement agencies.

The economic policy and security committees will make inquiries to the Government. The representative of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Alexey Kurinny published a copy of the order in his telegram channel.

People's deputies suspect that the country's budget system could have suffered major damage in the amount of over 100 billion rubles. This could have been caused by mistakes in the work of the management, as well as possible facts of corruption.

Last week, Rusbankrot already reported on the difficult financial condition of Rusnano. The reason was the debt of 95.5 billion rubles and the prospect of bankruptcy in the event that shareholders do not want to "save" the organization.

The protocol instruction adopted at a meeting of the lower house of parliament does not specify the name of the person who is called the "former head". In different years, Leonid Malamed and Anatoly Chubais were at the head of Rusnano. The first was accused of large-scale embezzlement. His case involved amounts of more than 220 million rubles. However, in 2020, the criminal prosecution was discontinued.

Anatoly Chubais, who in 2020 became the special representative of the head of state in relations with international organizations, led Rusnano from 2008 to 2020. In 2022, he left his post and reportedly went abroad. In September, the president said that the ex-head could "run away" due to a "financial hole" in the organization's budget.
