DEFENSE SPENDING IS GROWING IN RUSSIA

According to the text of this document, 4,679 trillion rubles were allocated from the Russian budget for national defense in 2022.

For comparison, in the Main Directions for 2022-2024, the Ministry of Finance cited other figures, namely 3,510 trillion rubles. The Federal law on the planned budget allocation period for 2020-2022, in turn, assumed the allocation of 3.2 billion rubles for national defense.

Thus, according to a number of experts, the difference between actual and planned expenditures is exactly the cost of the Russian special operation at the moment (although the calculation methodology raises questions, since, based on the figures of the federal law, 1.1 trillion rubles were supposed to be allocated specifically for 2022, and then the difference between actual and planned expenditures will be even greater than experts say).

At the same time, military spending, for example, the United States, for 2021 exceeded 800 billion USD, and in 2022 they are even higher.

Thus, as can be seen from the above data, the special operation turned out to be quite an expensive event, and this is not the case for Russia alone.
