Czech energy company CEZ has lost hundreds of thousands or even billions of kronor due to the termination of electricity supplies from Russia. This was stated in the program "Otázky Václava Moravce" of Czech television by CEO Daniel Benes.

Daniel Benes explained that there is no point in discussing deliveries next year with the Russian company Gazprom, and the only possible step would be to file a lawsuit in international arbitration.

In the same TV program, Dana Drabover, head of the National Agency for Nuclear Safety Supervision, said that the volatility of energy prices began last fall, even before the start of the Russian special operation.

As the agency notes, instead of extending the contract with the Russian company, CEZ is looking for other sources of gas supplies. In particular, since September, the Czech Republic has been receiving gas from an LNG terminal in the Netherlands, where it has leased capacity for 3 billion cubic meters.
