CREDITORS ARE ATTACKING MANUFACTURERS OF HOUSEHOLD GOODS FROM ST. PETERSBURG
In St. Petersburg, several enterprises producing household goods at once faced the prospect of insolvency proceedings. Pressure on the holding's participants is exerted by a large bank, which has already filed relevant lawsuits in court.

The initiator of the proceedings is JSC CB "Russian People's Bank". The financial institution insists on declaring two legal entities registered in Kronstadt bankrupt: LLC Kotlin Group and LLC PlastCom. The amount owed to the bank, which served as the reason for applying to arbitration, is estimated at 20 and 24.2 million rubles, respectively.

However, the holding's problems are not limited to banking claims only. Earlier, the distributor "Torginvest" announced its intentions to join the process. The notices published on the Federal Resource relate not only to the two companies mentioned, but also to the third link of the group, Crocus Group LLC, which is located in the Frunzensky district of the city.

The business of these structures is based on the production of a wide range of household goods: from rubber gloves and cleaning cloths to garbage bags and disposable tableware. They also produce products for storage, packaging and baking. The products are supplied to the largest retail chains in the country, including Lenta, Magnit, OK and stores belonging to X5 Group.

Curiously, the financial situation within the holding is not uniform. Despite the current threat of bankruptcy, by the end of 2024, all three companies reported a net profit of 2 to 3.5 million. Moreover, only Crocus Group demonstrated a drop in revenue, while the other two companies, on the contrary, increased their turnover and improved balance sheets.

Nevertheless, the accumulated litigation creates a serious background for financial instability. Last year alone, Kotlin Group conceded in three lawsuits totaling about 11 million rubles. PlastCom's losses are even greater – almost 27 million, not taking into account partially satisfied claims. Crocus Group has four lost cases worth $3.1 million.

Industry experts attribute the difficulties of manufacturers to the general cooling of the household goods market. The attendance of specialized stores (DIY format) fell by 18%. The reasons given are the recession in housing construction, the rise in the cost of loans and rising prices for the goods themselves. The Domashny Master network notes that in the second half of 2025, the turnover of the category sank by 16.5%. The situation is also aggravated by the expansion of online platforms, which attract customers with convenience and breadth of choice, while increasing the costs of manufacturers for logistics and marketing.

Lawyers, commenting on the situation, urge not to dramatize the very fact of filing a claim. As experts explain, the debtor company retains the right to full-fledged work, and the debt to the applicant can be repaid even before any procedures are launched. However, the appearance of new creditors in the case can radically change the balance and deprive the debtor of the chance to settle the dispute without the introduction of supervision or bankruptcy proceedings. At the same time, even at the final stage, the law allows the company to continue operating if it helps to maintain its value or realize assets more profitably. Further developments will depend on the activity of other counterparties and the position of the arbitration court.
