COMPULSORY CIVIL LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR VEHILCE OWNERS, BENEFITS FOR CULTURAL SECTOR AND FITNESS TAX DEDUCTION: WHAT WILL CHANGE FOR RUSSIANS IN AUGUST
Several bills, designed to change and even simplify the life of Russians and business community, come into force in August. The most important of them are here in our monthly selection.

Compensations for doing sports

Russians doing sports will be able to receive over 15 thousand rubles of annual compensation in the form of income tax deduction. The corresponding amendments were prepared by the Government of the Russian Federation and come into force on August 1.

In order for the norm to work in full measure, it is necessary to wait for the approval of the list of services, which will be subject to the new rules on deduction. In addition, the amount from which the deduction is calculated cannot exceed 120 thousand rubles per year. According to the Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin, the innovation will create additional opportunities for Russians involved in sports.

It will be no longer necessary to provide a document on technical inspection when buying Compulsory civil liability insurance for vehicle owners.

From August 22, the changes that will allow you to receive a new Compulsory civil liability insurance policy without providing a diagnostic card come into force. The legal innovation was signed by the President and published in early July. Changes are being made to Article 15 of the law on the Compulsory civil liability insurance for vehicle owners and are designed to make the service for obtaining a policy more accessible.

However, this does not mean that you no longer need to undergo a technical inspection.

From the beginning of spring next year, the norm establishing a fine of 2 thousand rubles for the absence of a diagnostic card comes into force.

Cultural institutions will receive tax breaks

From August 2, amendments to the Tax Code will come into force, according to which cultural institutions will be exempted from the obligation to submit income tax returns for 2020-2021. The tax itself for the indicated periods can be paid until March 28 of the next year.

The changes concern cultural objects, including museums, companies that organize entertainment and creative activities.

To determine the possibility of applying the norm, the OKVED codes of the main type of activity, established as of December 31, 2020, will be used. Corresponding changes were made to Articles 286, 287, 289 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation.

Russian Regions will be able to establish reduced tax rates for intellectual property

From the beginning of August, the constituent entities of the Russian Federation will be able to independently establish reduced tax rates for taxpayers who grant the rights for the use of the results of intellectual activity. At the same time, the very right to intellectual property should not only be assigned to the taxpayer, but also be registered with Rospatent. The innovation is contained in paragraph 1.8-3 of Article 284 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation.

New duties of notaries during state registration

The notary who attested the signature on the application for state registration of a legal entity or individual entrepreneur will be obliged to independently send electronic documents to the registering authority on the day of attesting the signature. The innovation will start working on August 25.
