CINEMAS OBLIGED TO INFORM THE AUDIENCE ABOUT THE DURATION OF PROMO VIDEOS PRECEEDING THE FILM
The Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved a decree establishing the obligation of cinemas to inform viewers about the duration of advertising videos before the film screening.  The document was adopted to replace the existing one and is intended to improve the legal regulation of the industry.

The decree contains the rules for the provision of services for the screening of films, some of which have been introduced for the first time. The document will start working next spring.

According to the decree, cinemas are obliged to inform the viewers about the duration of commercials preceding the show.

Relevant information should be available at the box offices and, as conceived by the authors, contribute to the improvement of timing and reduction of late comings of viewers. Another innovation is the obligation to post information about the technical features of cinemas and the availability of films with audio commentary and subtitles in screenings. The latest information will be important for people with visual and hearing impairments.

Along with a number of new obligations, the decree provides for additional rights for cinemas.

In particular, they will have the opportunity to impose bans for those wishing to take pungent-smelling substances, pyrotechnics and objects that can stain both other spectators and the property of the cinema, to the session.

The importance of developing a new regulation is dictated by the time. The previous similar document had existed for 27 years and was significantly outdated. The new rules for the provision of services in cinemas will be in effect for six years.
