A large-scale production project in the Tula region, estimated at almost 1.9 billion rubles, ended with the recognition of the enterprise as insolvent. We are talking about PromBit LLC, which owes creditors an impressive amount, which has caused months of litigation.

To date, SBK Steklo LLC is the key contender in the bankruptcy case. It was to this organization that the rights to collect debts on loans previously issued by Sberbank PJSC were transferred. The amount owed to the new creditor is 1.576 billion rubles. It includes both the loan body and interest, as well as overdue payments. The funds themselves were received by the plant's management in 2022-2023, secured by real estate and facilities.

On February 19, the arbitration court of the Tula Region approved Dmitry Cheparev as the temporary administrator of the debtor's property. In addition to the main claimant, other legal entities are involved in the process, but the exact size of their financial claims is still being kept secret.

There are assets on the balance sheet of a bankrupt company that are pledged. Among them are several plots of land in Yefremov (the total area exceeds 270 thousand square meters), a workshop with an area of more than 4.5 thousand "squares" and technological equipment. All this property is highly likely to be sold to pay off debts.

In parallel with the main proceedings, a number of related disputes involving related entities were initiated. For example, the courts have considered the composition of the founders and the legality of certain transactions. Some of the applications were returned to the plaintiffs without consideration, and some trials were suspended.

Initially, PromBit was conceived as a high-tech enterprise for deep grain processing, where it was planned to produce amino acids, feed protein and glucose. The plant was launched in December 2021 within the boundaries of the Efremov Nuclear Power Plant with the participation of financial structures. It was expected that the production would give the city up to 100 vacancies and reach an annual volume of 21.6 thousand tons of products.

However, the targets have not been achieved either in 2022 or in subsequent years. As a result, the company's property, along with debt obligations, was put up for auction. The single lot includes shares in the authorized capital, the right to claim more than 1.5 billion and the production site itself. Potential investors are in no hurry to take away distressed assets – there have not yet been any people willing to buy the company.
