BEAC HAS WON A LAWSUIT AGAINST A FORMER BRITISH "DAUGHTER" FOR 12 BILLION
The Moscow Arbitration Court has decided to recover 12 billion rubles from the former British structure of Sberbank CIB (UK) according to the claim of Sberbank. The amount includes the defendant's debt on four loans.
Loans were issued to the former British "daughter" of the Savings Bank in different currencies and rubles. As RBC clarifies, the defendant will make payments to the plaintiff in rubles at the exchange rate of the Central Bank on the day of payment.
Recall that Sberbank CIB (UK) received loans at the end of February 2022. However, due to the sanctions imposed in early March of the same year, Sberbank lost control of its former British "daughter".
Sberbank CIB (UK) was engaged in investment banking and securities transactions. Her services were used by large companies and financial institutions.
