BASKOV'S EX-WIFE FAILED TO APPEAL THE BANKRUPTCY PROCEDURE
Svetlana Shpigel, the daughter of Boris Shpigel, who owned Biotech Pharmaceutical Corporation, and the ex-wife of actor Nikolai Baskov, did not achieve the cancellation of the judicial act on her insolvency. The appeal (9th AAC) upheld the court's act that initiated the restructuring of her debt.

In March, the Moscow Arbitration Court (AS GM) considered the application of the bankrupt Biotech's manager, who asked to declare Spiegel's daughter bankrupt. The manager filed a lawsuit on behalf of Biotech. Previously, the company was owned by her parents and was declared insolvent.

According to court documents, the woman's debt to the pharmaceutical manufacturer is about 67 million rubles. It is this amount that has already been mentioned in the insolvency case of the corporation itself. Three judicial instances declared the transfers made four years ago in her favor inadmissible. It was about paying dividends in the amount of 57 million rubles and additional financial assistance in the amount of 10 million rubles at a time when the corporation was experiencing financial instability and had debts to credit institutions.

Spiegel herself objected to the introduction of bankruptcy proceedings. She pointed to the fact that valuable property had been seized from her during the investigative measures against her parents and their accomplices. In addition, according to her, the amount of seized assets is three times the amount declared as debt. Spiegel insisted on lifting the arrest and argued that she could not be responsible for the actions of the defendants in the criminal case.

However, the court pointed out that the lifting of restrictions and the disposal of assets is possible as part of the restructuring if a debt repayment plan is submitted. If such a plan is not submitted, the law provides for the recognition of a citizen as insolvent, followed by a transition to another procedure – the sale of assets to cover debt.

The main hearing in the case is scheduled for the fall. At the moment, Anatoly Picheikin, who has been approved for financial management, has demanded that the woman disclose all information about her existing property, obligations, as well as other data required by law.

The woman was married to Baskov from 2001 to 2008. It was reported that they met through Boris Shpigel, who acted as Baskov's producer.

In early 2024, Svetlana's father and the ex-owner of Biotech were sent to a penal colony by a court in Moscow for 11 years because of a bribe to the former head of the Penza region. Later, due to the state of Boris Shpigel's body, he was released from detention in a correctional facility. At the same time, penalties (450 million) and various compensations in favor of the state from him and his accomplices were not canceled.
