BANKRUPTCIES IN RUSSIA: STATISTICS FOR 2022
In the period from January to September, the number of company insolvency cases decreased by 2.4% compared to the previous year.

The number of bankruptcy procedures of citizens, in turn, shows a more significant decrease. There is a twofold slowdown in the growth of the number of cases compared to 2021 (41.2% vs. 78.4%). This is evidenced by the data of the portal "Fedresurs".

At the same time, the debtors themselves still remain the primary initiators of cases - 96.1% of the procedures were initiated on the applications of citizens. The leaders in the number of insolvency procedures of citizens are still the following regions: Krasnodar Krai, Moscow Region and Moscow.

As a separate item, Fedresurs notes a 42.3% increase in the number of out-of-court bankruptcies through the MFC, which indicates a certain effectiveness of the mechanism.

This statistic is due to the effect of the moratorium, which was introduced by the Government of the Russian Federation in the period from April to October of this year. At the same time, experts believe, based on the experience of the covid moratorium, that a significant increase in bankruptcy cases after the end of restrictions should not be expected.
