A BANKRUPT SVYAZNOY CAN ACQUIRE A NEW OWNER
The well–known retail chain Svyaznoy in the Russian Federation (the new network is Svyaz.ON"), declared bankrupt in 2023, has been revived and may acquire a new owner in the near future. This was reported to Rusbankrot by sources associated with Alfa-Bank.
The date and details of the transaction remain secret at the moment.
Recall that in December last year, the court declared bankrupt LLC "Svyaznoy Network" — the head structure of a large Russian retailer. Svyaznoy announced its intention to file an application for recognition as insolvent in February 2023. Among the creditors were Vimpelcom, Merlion, Rosbank Factoring, Sovcombank and Alfa-Bank.
Bankruptcy also threatened the head structure of the LLC, the Cypriot DTS Retail LTD. Alfa-Bank filed a lawsuit against the company in the amount of 6 billion rubles. However, in the end, the defendant was able to negotiate with the credit institution on restructuring and concluding a settlement agreement.
About plans to open the Svyaz network in the Russian Federation.ON" first became known in the spring of this year, and the first stores started operating in the summer. Smartphones and other equipment are sold here both online and offline. At the same time, the opening of the network took place without any large-scale advertising campaign. According to media reports, the management of "Communication.ON" - former top managers of the bankrupt Svyaznoy.
